P9X79 Deluxe intermittent No video on post issue
 

Having some trouble with my P9X79 Deluxe. On occasion there will be no video signal when the board posts. I just get a blank screen during bootup - no video signal to the monitor.
This occurs on cold boots, warm boots, restarts, etc. I have cleared cmos - no effect. Continuous restarting won't fix it, but sometimes reseating the card will temporarily. I have not lost video while in windows. It just seems to be during bootup.

I move the 660Ti to the 2nd slot and it will post with video fine every time.

Anyone ever experience this? Any other troubleshooting tips?

How many monitors on this system ? If you have only one, try another connector on the GPU.

Just a single 2560x1600 monitor. Ill give that a shot as soon as my WU's are finished.

Your monitor may be on its way out. I had a similar problems that I misinterpreted as something else, it took me a while to figure it out. :blarg:

Have you tried it out of the case to see if it can be replicated?

Any chance there's a slight "wow" to the case PCI slots? I had a similar issue with one of my homemade bench cases because the vid card was being prevented from seating properly by the lip of the rear slot.

Yeah, right now the rig is open air atop the motherboard box. It hasn't gone into a case yet. It could possibly be that it isn't seating properly as its not really supported. I have a case coming early next week.
