Help! PC won't boot up..... ...I get this error: NTLDR is missing. Googling the message seems to indicate a HDD problem. My HDD is five years old on Windows XP and I was having no problems or strange sounds before this. Any and all help and advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
check if your system is booting the OS drive first |
WOW, that was fast! Yes, it tries boot into my C drive and, untill the error message, all looks normal. Thanks |

Being that its 5 years I would wager your hard drive is getting tired. Find the brand of it and run the manufacturers tools on it or download UBCD or Hirens and run the utils from that cd. Don't even bother with any other troubleshooting till you've ran tests on the hard drive. |
