Default SteelSeries Siberia v2 microphone

I got this headset about a week ago and it was working properly up until today. The headphones are working great, but the microphone is not. While talking to my friends on Teamspeak 3 they said they can't hear me and that they hear only static. Then I tried my old microphone and it's working well. I've also tried recording myself with Windows Sound Recorder and I can only hear static, and it only becomes a bit higher pitched when I talk. I don't have a USB chord so I can't try if it works with it. I've also tried twitching and twisting the jack and the sound bars under recording tab under Sound in Control Panel go up for a second. Is there anything I can do about this? Thank you.

I had this problem with my V2's as well, but it went away once I plugged them into my keyboards audio jacks (Logitech G510). Try plugging them into the audio jacks without the extender. I feel that it was the extender that was my problem because I'm not using it now, and it's not causing any troubles

I also had this issue and like the above post it just went away after I used my keyboard audio jacks.. I still do use the extender though (I have a habit of getting up and walking away with them on so this just helps to give me a few extra feet before I break something haha).

I have 4 other sets now and they all work fine. (the reason I have 4 sets is I hate my daughters music, my son plays game, my other son watches barney and other things and for their ipods, etc lol).

I don't have an extender, it didn't come with one (the cable length is about 1,5 meters), so that's obviously not the problem. Also, I've tried plugging them into back jacks and keyboard jacks, and to my surprise it's a bit better, but it still doesn't work. When I speak to it when plugged in the keyboard you can't hear it, only static (which is lower than on front jacks), but you can hear if I blow directly into it.

Sounds defective, I'd return them.
