monitor/keyboard not working

My bro's computer crapped out recently. Trying to narrow down the cause.

On board vid will not work with current psu. Installed a old psu lying around and on board worked. But it doesnt have the pci xpress connectors to check the vid card.

Mobo is an asus m4a78e will try to find an aux speaker to diagnose.

Any tips or testing methods u guys can think of? Have limited hw to swap out

Best bet would be to get that speaker and see what beep codes the motherboard emits, otherwise it could be a bad psu, dead video card, or even motherboard. How old is the psu and what brand?

Couple years old OCz 550w

Gunna pick up another psu and hopefully a speaker

Was the psu, picked up a dynex 520w. Dunno if it's a rebranded power supply. Seems similar to my old bfg.

I know u can tell the quality of a psu by weight and this thing isnt very solid feeling.

He wants to just keep it but maybe I'll try to convince him to get a corsair
