Also, when you press the power button, do any fans start spinning?

Sorry, unclear. "No signal" on video. By "all parts running" I mean all the fans and the hard drive. I also added a new power supply. All the connectors seem fine.

Do you get any beeps with and without the video card and ram.. Does the mobo stay on, or turnes on and then off after 2 secs.. If it does turn off, try reseating the cpu and heatsink.. If you do have any beeps, tell us what it is please... |

If it sounds like your fans are going full out, but wont post or anything i'd say its your ram. if you have more than one stick remove all of em and then try them one at a time, or a new stick all together from a friend or something.

Thanks guys. I haven't had time to get into this due to work. I will try all your suggestions, test and rebuild on Wednesday (my day off) and let you know. To answer miggs78, no beeps.

I know your motherboard is a P35 chipset, where as mine is a 680i. But I'm going through the same thing.. Try putting one stick of RAM, no video card and turn it on, or vise versa, no stick of RAM and video card. See if you come up with any beeps.. Also turn off your PSU (if it has a switch, if not take the power cord out of it), take of the Battery and move the CMOS clear jumper on the motherboard to clear and leave the system unplugged for atleast 24 hrs, that should reset. If it still doesn't work, RMA time then.. Good Luck |

It's also possible that with your new build you may have accidentally grounded out the motherboard to the chasis. So, try pulling all the parts out of the case, put them on a non-conductive surface, and try posting again with minimum parts (1 stick of ram, no hard drives, etc) and see what happens. Let me know!

Thank you fellow Canucks. I have a new working system now. I tried all the suggestions. I took the whole thing apart and, when I was switching out parts, I swithed the E4500 with an E6300 and the system booted. So, I thought to switch them back-- and the system booted. Somehow, the E4500 had not been connecting. I don't understand why. I had made sure the fan was on and the E4500 was properly in its socket. Any ideas? This is actually my second system which I began when my first system failed to boot. I decided I needed a "safe" system for work and school as well as one to mess with. Swapping parts with the second system, I determined the MB on the first was not working. I'll move on shortly to overclocking the second system. Maybe you'll here from me then in another thread. Thanks again.
