Monitor Rotates between colors

I have a 6 year old Samsung Syncmaster 305T LCD monitor here at work that they are getting rid of because the screen flickers when it is on. I was wondering what may be the issue, if I can potentially fix it myself (apparently it doesn't look like there is any cap damage but I'll be taking it home to examine it myself), or if the problem would be a relatively cheap one for me to get a professionally repaired.

What I have found is happening is it looks like it's not reading the signal from the video card. I've used an existing working connection and cable to rule them out. The monitor appears to toggle through white, grey, red, green, blue, black and repeats it infinitely, regardless if a video cable is plugged into its single DVI port or not.

I don't know, just going off what I was told. May quickly put it on my desk and see it with my own eyes before taking it home.
