i3770k Temperature help

Hi, I recently build a new rig. Spent quite some cash on it. Everything seems to be running perfectly fine. However, just want to be safe about my cpu temperatures.

CPU is an i3770k. I have not overclocked it and I think it has turbo-boost auto enabled if that's needed to be known.. Usually at idle my temps are as shown below, is this considered safe or normal? I have seen many users of i3770k claim their temps are like 28-30(C) at idle, how come mine is already total of 38(C) at idle?



Also when I game such as playing bf3 @ ultra on 1680x1050 64 players., the 4 cores can go up to 58(c), 60(c), 61(c), 57(c) for example in no order.. is this also considered ok for load temperature? I really am afraid I may over heat my cpu and sometimes do game long.

I am using a CPU cooler which is the Cooler Master RR-T812-24PK-R1 TPC 812 Vapour Chamber, is this ok for the cpu and can it control its heat well? Not really a tech genius here in terms of monitoring my hardware. Your help is really appriecated,thanks!

I have the same cpu and cooler as you. Let me check what my temps are tonight when I get home and I'll post them for you. In the meantime you could remount your cooler, making sure to apply just a small cooked grain of rice sized blob in the centre of the chip.

edit: your temps seem a little bit warm for stock speeds, but they are safe. You should be able reduce them though.

can be the case air flow ian't gtting changed for the CPU is recirculating it

Hi guys thanks for both of your replies. I am using a cooler master HAF 932 casing with 3 fans running.
In what way could I reduce the temp? As for the rice grain suggestion I think it would not be possible for me to do that as I have no clue on fixing my hardware, asked a friend for help. Could you also share what settings you changed to over clock to 4.6ghz or tell me a guide as I am really new to oc'ing. I would love to try it out as well just to see my temps. Kind of disappointed that with a cpu cooler the temps are still high without oc.

If you don't know how to change your thermal paste I really don't suggest overclocking.

If that's the case I think I wouldn't overclock then. It seems strange that even with a cpu cooler and a big casing I am having high temps on idle.. Were the parts not fit properly?

what about ambient temps here folks maybe like the biggest factor in all of this and there has been no mention of it at

Are you able to provide a picture of the inside of your case so we can see how your case fans and TPC-812 are configured?
