I got home and to my dismay part of my motherboard had actually fallen off during transit so i am just going to make an insurance claim through the post office. at least my hard drives still work so i didn't lose any data.

Wow!! It doesn't suprise me something like this has occured shipping companies whether it be Purolator, UPS or Canada post seemed to take little care for rather large packages. A couple of years back I sent a 22" monitor to Winnipeg and I get an e-mail with photos of the monitor in 2 pieces. The screens tube had seperated from its housing, although it still worked it was heavily damaged, I had no problems dealing with purolator they were quite happy to help and cut me a cheque for the damages. Its a lesson to anyone regardless how small or large the item its imperative to always insure anything you send and I hope Canada Post won't give you any problems with your claim you deserve to get what you need to replace the damaged equipment.

Good luck,

EE
