6+970 crazy temps

have reapplied abot ten times now dont know what else to do am stumped

didn't amd use some kind of "phase change tim" or was that the 7970??

In my experience with Video cards,the fact that the temp jump is immediate,tells me the cards are fried. My first pair of 580's heated up right away,and the tech guys told me that an immediate temp increase like that means fried cards period,which they replaced without any questions. Even if you had no thermal paste on them,they wouldn't get that hot,that quick. At least that's what I was told. Do you still have warranty? Good luck.

replaced there mal pads again plus thermal past now top card running fine but other 6970 going to 90 deg 4 screws on back plate had to be replaced but wrong size would that be the cause
