3dsmax seems to work fine now, Im guessing loading Ntune messed with the driver ? How else could it have become corrupted ?
Sucks If its Ntune , I cant play with the fans with the other popular fan control software...
Wow im thinking this near 3000$ pc might be a write off... Think its worth getting a new mobo and psu for this ram , cpu and gpu ? Or should I just start over from scratch ? money money money !

Start from scratch. You can have a wicked rig for under 1k.

What's your card again? And from what I remember the PSOD - Pink-screen-of-Death - is the GPU memory dying.

I have a galaxy gtx550ti 1 gb . Ive read 100 posts on this and it seems to be driver related ever since the 296.10 came out . I found a beta driver on nvidias site NVIDIA DRIVERS 301.24 BETA

Ill try it and see if it works if not ill roll back to the 295.73 ....

Im thinking of building again ,I know you think I should start from scratch but Id be waisting about 300$ and convincing the gf that I didnt waist my money will be impossible . I would like to use at least the graphics card and the cpu . What are the symptoms of a bad cpu after passing numerous stress tests?
I think its fine... anyways I found a 775 mobo by gigabyte 59$ but it takes ddr3, ddr2 wont fit then right ? You think that and a new case and psu (possibly new ram ddr3) Id re use one of my dvd drives from the dell..oh and a corsair h100 with a few extra fans would be ok ? That way id be spending 500$more than I have already.....

I have a few cases available for cheap, if it can help - since using a S775 is not worthwhile. The 550 is an ok GPU, but you should definitely invest in a new board - x58, P67 for cheap but efficient boards. DDR3 is dirt cheap for 4Gb.
I've never had a CPU die on me, even after pushing them past their limits. A bad CPU happens, but I'd be really surprised.

Cases you say , cool I might take you up on that offer .
Id like to use a 775 mobo so that I can use the QX6700 cpu I just bought on .
Thing is I want to buy a new pc in a year or so but I need something until then that wont cost too much but wont lack too much in performance.

775 boards are quite rare, and we aren't sure what is the exact problem. Replacing the board may not solve your issue.
If you are looking to replace your rig, start saving and hopefully it will last until it gets replaced...
