My old dell dimension 8300 computer ( that I was going to give to my sister) which ran great 3ghz what not it is a good computer anyway the power switch quit on me and 8300 has a remote board ( at least I think that is what it is called) because the power switch is mounted on that goes back to the mobo via a ribbon cable does anyone know how to by pass this switch and just use the power switch on the new psu I put in a three months ago?

what i might suggest is switching the reset button from the reset position on the mobo to the power switch position, that happened to my brother in law a while back, he took it to the shop an they told him to get him to buy a new box... but cheepy me told him to do just that and it works perfectly fine. just hit the reset button on the case to turn it on an off.
