Default Bios update changed something

I have a P9X79 WITH A 3930K INTEL AND nvidia gtx 580 evga with 16gig of ram . Well i decided to update bios because my xmb settings for ram were not allowing me to run my ram at 1600 mhz well the bios update fixed that but now when i play games that were recommending settings on ultra the games are recommending good to high now . Any idea what may have changed in bios to result in this? and also what should temps be at on a 3930k at idle and with load . just want my graphics setting to recommend ultra like they did before the bios update.

Default

bios would have zero effect on graphics settings. Sounds like a setting in Windows was changed.
