Default Video and Audio freezes

Occasionally, my computer will completely freeze, with audio also freezing with loud repetitive clicks. Can't do anything except turn it off. It happens frequently during counter strike:cz but rarely happens any other time.

also, a couple times on cold boot, the screen was blank... a reboot was okay though.

system's fairly new, I built it a month or so ago, and the only old components are the dvd drive and the non-os secondary hdd.

any have any insights?

Probably CPU/GPU over heating, check the temps while you're gaming. Although i doubt it with CS:CZ

Unplug all the drives except the boot drive to rule out the extra drives. All it takes is one bad drive to cause problems
