Laptop Gaming Issue

I have an ASUS K53SV laptop (i5 2410m, GeForce GT 540M), and lately, when I play games on it, it momentarily freezes every few minutes (for about 30 seconds at a time). The frame rate is solid when not frozen. I have no idea what's going on.

GPU overheating. Time for a clean-up probably. Use GPU-z to check out the GPU temps while gaming.

Thanks. Seems to have worked. Is it also a good idea to update with the reference Nvidia drivers?

Drivers do have fixes for games indeed.

Always keep your drivers up to date unless you have a specific game that works better on previous drivers and play it lots. Also, stress test your GPU memory with OCCT.
