My System Specs

Default Moving, Transporting my tower

So I am heading to Alberta on Thursday and I am looking for some advice on how to pack my tower correctly so that i can bring it with me. I am flying out and would be willing to pack it in something to take it with me. I am nut sure what I should disassemble and how I should pack it to make sure it doesn't get broken. Leaving the monitor and keyboard so I am looking to just get the tower out west with me. Any suggestions or experience would be appreciated.

I'd remove vid card + CPU heatsink. Everything else should ship fine.

Heavy cpu HSF ie tuniq tower should come off. HDD's are a little delicate but if you carry it on it should be fine if you're careful. I would not check it into baggage, carry it on. Friends carried on a tower all the way to Caymen from Vancouver.

The 600t is kind of a large mid so I am not sure. I have all the original boxes so I don't know what the best option is. Vid card out and my nh- d14 out. hmm. I don't know if I can carry it on or if they will make me check it. Do you think calling the airline and asking them might be an option?

Original box if you can, remove everythong that can move. Toolless HDD, videocard and heavy heatsink. Unless you have a way to fix them solid using zip tie in the case ( like NCIX usually do with computer ). If you don't have original box, build a very solid one with some larger box and make sure of having ENOUGH packaging in it. As we say in electricity, to strong wont break.

I ship towers with tower coolers, but the packaging I make is damn near bullet proof and I modify in order to make sure it gets there....
