Default Turtle beach DX11 help

I just bought these supposed 7.1 headphones and am getting a high pitch hiss when nothing happening? Is there any tricks to try as it is getting on my nerves.

What are they plugged in to? Onboard or sound card? Or are they USB?

signal to nosie ratio ....... high volume with no music turn the volume down is the fix

hisssssssss is the nature of the amp
