My System Specs

Default SOLVED: USB Ports are Dead? Everything Else Is Fine

I tried booting up my computer this morning but I couldn't get the mouse and keyboard to work. I pulled the BIOS battery and cleared CMOS (2pin method) hoping it'll fix it, but it doesn't. I think all my USB ports are dead as neither the front or back ones work. When I power on the PSU switch, the keyboard light comes on for a split second then it instantly turns off and it'll never receive power from the USB ports again. I can still boot into Windows just fine, and even continue to run Folding@Home, so it's definitely not a PSU problem. Is there any solution or should I just RMA it and build a Sandy Bridge PC?

Edit: Somehow everything works now.

Gotta love intermittent problems :P
Hmm it sounds like Windows decided to dump the USB drivers temporarily (update?) or something static zapped or shorted your USB. Do you have a buggy external drive enclosure attached?

Windows couldn't have dumped the drivers or whatever. I couldn't even get into the BIOS or anything, so I'm positive it's a BIOS/hardware kinda problem.

No external drives. But like I said, everything is up and running now. For now.
