Default PSU fan not Spinning

Hi i got the corsair 850w hx psu and when i turn the comp on the fan spins for a second i guess to power on all the other case fans then stops spinning. i noticed when i turn the computer off the fan spins like a rotation or two. is there like a small fan inside or an internal temp that must be reached for the giant fan to start spinning? thanks.

Thats not right. RMA the unit if the Fan stops spinning, unless they revised the HX units all the HX's I have always have their fans running regardless of load.

sorry for the late reply. its a new built comp and i haven't had enough time to even get past loading threw the bios. so not much stress at all. im gonna try unplugging some of the other fans maybey its drawing to much energy and the psu fan wont spin, cause it spins for a second when i cut the power- like leftover power from the spinning fans jolts the psu fan. i got it from new egg and never had this problem before do you think they would give me a problem?

yea it could be faulty, but I would rather not use it and perhaps cause damage to other hardware.

load it up it should spin up.

hell put it on a cheaper odler system if you think itll blow.

if the fan did not move at all id be worried. a little spinning could be normal

and this is all off the fan controller there.

if the fan or the controller were dead nothing would move and puff the smoke would pop up lol.

thanks for the replies my brother found a thread on a another site where the guy who bought the same thing had the same problem another guy responded by saying inside the supply is a small silent fan for low temps then once the temps hit certain points the large fan will crank up. Im gonna try loading it up and find a game or something to try straining it.
