Default Trouble installing W7 on Corsair force 3

Hey guys I just received my 120gb force 3 in the mail today, and I have trouble installing w7 on it.

I have a p5q Pro with a q6600 and a benQ IDE dvd burner. I know the board doesn't support sata3, but I plan on upgrading it within a few months.

I've done the following:
Unplugged HDD completely.
1: Install on AHCI mode
2: Install on AHCI mode, made sure the sata cable I used works on my HDD first.
3: Soft reset bios settings to default, Install on AHCI mode.
4: Install on IDE mode
5: Reset CMOS by taking out the battery, and installing on AHCI mode.

In all cases, the install gets stuck on decompressing file at 0% with the following error message.

"Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation.
Error code 0x80070017"

I got the DVD off the internet because my serial key comes from the MSDNAA, but I know it works because my previous install was done using the same DVD.

Booting on my HDD I know that my DVD drive can run open the DVD, and all the files seem to be there. BUT my DVD drive is an old IDE one, and I think that may be the root of the problem.

Tomorrow I'll be trying out a sata DVD drive and redownloading the w7 DVD.

Anybody have any ideas what the problem is? What else could I try?

I installed w7 on an HDD on that computer using the same DVD and DVD drive a few months ago.

There was a bit of a dust and a few scratches on the disk, so that may have been the reason, or my DVD drive was refusing to operate properly.

Edit: Oh whoops I was a bit misleading because I said "i got the DVD off the internet" what i meant was that I got the ISO off the internet.
