It cant be detected by windows. I have reformatted my computer and still no go.
The card is all good as i tested it in another system.
I have even tried the PCIX16 slots. same problem.

normal titanium.
I put the card in the pcie slot 3 where the 3rd video card goes and installed 77 windows updates and it finally works now.

I don't know how i did it.
previous windows was windows 7 x64 with sp1 and all updates but this one doesn't even have sp1.

Oh well. Thanks anyway guys :)

try it in a different slot now

perhaps windows has "figured it out" now

i've had other devices not work in one slot. put in another works
put in the slot that didn't work and windows goes "oh hey i know that..."

Could have been an IRQ conflict. Moving to a new slot can correct the issue. I find that sound cards and tv tuners are the worst for this. If this continues make sure you disable the onboard sound, and any other devices/ports that you won't be using.

I put the card back in the mini pcie and unknown device showed up again.
I still have x-fi listed in the device manager though.
I can use the x-fi volume controls still.
It is weird.
So mini pcie slot can't recognize anything? Or is that just the card it self??
If I put it in the 3rd pcie slot then the bandwidth will be shared between the card and the video card. I don't want that.

Anyway for those that don't know, if a device is named but it has a yellow mark next to it then you can install drivers for it.
If it says unknown device then drivers don't matter at all, it has nothing to do with the driver as it is the recognition problem.
You can't install a driver if the computer doesn't even recognize the hardware.

Not sure how you would do it with your board, but try disabling the onboard sound (if not done already), and disabling firewire, etc. Could be a conflict.

Try the latest BIOS, and reset the CMOS with all the cards installed and see if the mobo will reassign resources.
