Default Audio trouble

Hello everyone, I am having trouble with the audio quitting on one of my pc's. It just randomly stops working and requires a reinstall of the drivers. The computer is DFI LP DK X38, Q6600 @ 3200mhz, 4GB GSkill F2-8500, Geforce 9800 GTX, WinXP SP3, Creative XFi XtremeMusic, and 2 WD 300GB HDD's. I had originally been experiencing the problem with the onboard Realtek Audio and I just recently installed the XFi soundcard in the hope that it would fix it. Well it worked for a couple of days and just quit working again. There are no errors or problems detected in the device manager or dxdiag. I have tried using different speakers and headphones but nothing works. The only thing that seems to work is to reinstall the audio drivers. Its getting freakin' annoying.....any ideas?

current audio driver xp 32/64bit ALC885 is R2.58 for MB

other is conflicting with Creative XFi XtremeMusic card ,current driver Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi series driver 2.18.0015 don't support XP.

best go into device manager and check IRQ's and memory registers aren't sharing

There is one newer version of that driver dated Feb.16/11 that is for WinXp and is the one I have been using. I went into the device manager and saw no conflicts. Are you thinking this is just a driver conflict issue?

Just tried a movie dvd and there was no sound. As for the dust I just installed the XFi about 2 weeks ago and usually clean my computers once every couple of months.
