hard drive not recognised in HTPC

Hi

When I first built the HTPC, I intended to house the data on a server and have only a small ssd in the HTPC. All worked well. But then I decided to install another hard drive - 2TB Western digital caviar. It is recognised by the bios, but windows (7, ultimate, 64 bit) does not recognize it, and I am not sure why, or how to remedy it.

I find it funny that after ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL these years the most basic thing in Windows is still overlooked.

You need to initialize the drive before you can use it.

OP, right click on my computer -> manage -> disk management - you should be able to format and/or initialize the HD there.
