Default Crashing when gaming

Hello

Its been a while since I posted.
Ok so here is the problem, I play COD MW2 and Battelfeild bad company 2.
Now on MW2 i get ie4mp.exe error and when i play BBC 2 I crash. Now I tested my video card and no issues with benchmarking it. I removed all drivers nvidia and reinstalled new drivers, still does same thing.

So I thought ok, I took out my GTX 470 and put in my GTX 260 and of course uninstalled drivers, and installed back on. still same error or crashes.

I even did a fresh format and installed all the latest drivers for all my hardware.

So I have no idea what to do next.
Does anyone come across this when they play games like MW2 and BBC 2.

Hope someone can help. starting to me off.

Thanks

Are you overclocking your CPU?

Looks like your CPU overclock isnt stable. What are you using it to test the stability? Id recommend LinX or IntelBurn test. All/Max memory for 25 loops/passes. I dont think Prime96 or OCCT cuts it anymore.

My OC is at 3.2GHz and runs all my other games ok. will try to rest set it and see what happens

Ok downloaded intelburn test told me its stable. that's with it OC @ 3.2GHz

does that test the memory and video card, too?

If everything's reported as stable and you're still getting the errors, try dropping everything down to stock and see if that fixes it.

if it does, gradually bump everything back up to where you had it until you find what's causing the crash.

If it doesn't, it might be an issue with your graphics card and DirectX 10 (which I'm pretty sure both games listed utilize). Try setting both games to run in DX9 mode and see if that helps.

How many passes\loops did you run?

I agree with Gruntsworthy. When you get a problem like this you have to start testing everything. Intel Burn Test can only test as much memory thats available, not everything. So it is possible you have bad ram.

Try running memtest x86+ for at least 2 full passes. If you get a lockup or errors, set your clock to default and try again.

Also, test your HDD with whatever utility they recommend.

So I set my cpu to 2.6GHz and then lowered my ram and noticed that it did not crash anymore, well so far last few days.
So I think you guys are right my ram was causing the issues.
Thanks again guys for all your help
