Default Asus G73JH Issues

So i just flashed the vbios on my G73JH, and im having troubles re-installing drivers, I got 10.12 on there fine at first, but CCC didn't work so I uninstalled and have been trying to reinstall but always to the issue the video driver doesn't install, but all others do, im thinking iv borked the card.

Rolling back 5 days did nothing, installing ASUS's ghetto old driver also did nothing, any questionable or ideals? If I return to my local reseller for replacement i'll probably end up with a Nvidia 460M model.

Thanks, ToXic.

Update: RANDOM rollback recovered them, now need to re-acquire catalyst 10.12.

Just bought a g73jw (nvidia 460m) myself.

When it comes to flashing vbios/updating drivers on laptops , you need to be careful....Typically , you should only use the latest drivers from the laptop manufacturer , rather than the 'very latest' from the video card company.

I've been using my G51J for well over a year and HAVE ALWAYS used nv Drivers for my 260M .(I stay away from Asus GPU Drivers)...shouldn't be a problem at all !!

Braineater....you shoud be using the same Mobile Driver as me ...straight from nv 260.99 WHQL (260M or 460M)

There are massive issues with the old vbios not mixing with anything pas 9.XX drivers, without GSODing, so it has to be flashed to address the issue, I now run 10.12 flawlessly.

Damn you, I really want the nvidia model, I hate ATI.

If you owned a G73JH youd know what issues I was getting at, though the offical vbios from Gary Key (Asus rep) fixes it, or Chastity's moded vbios. And asus's latest driver is a year old... They wont update it.

^^^ There were lots of issues with my model G51J when it came out......I got lucky, this Notebook has been rock solid (including gaming) for well over a year now......I immediately took out both 320GB Momentus Drives and replaced them with an Intel 80GB and a Vertex 120 GB SSD's........I think your model only comes with 1 HDD as it has the extra RAM......yours is also 17" 1080 where mine is 15.5" 1080........I'm on it right now actually ;)

before one loses more hairs, he/she/it must try out a live cd. if that borks as well, it is hardware or such related.

just keep a copy of pc os or ubuntu around.

my msi lappy was missbehaving, before going tru all the tests i poped the live cd in and ran it for a day or two. no problemo, thus, fresh install of winders did it in.
