My System Specs

Default SSD only has 50mb space left.

I have an Intel 40gig ssd in my computer as my boot drive with a 640gig WD black drive as my data drive. I have tried freeing up space on the drive but it just gets full again. I uninstalled Microsoft student office from it which freed up 1 gig of space but the next day it just went back down and there is less and less space on it each day. What can i do to free up some space. Any help would be appreciated.

Stop automatic update from anysoftware that is installed into windows, like flash, java etc. And windows itself for sure. Also, each time you install a new software on your 640 it put some file in your windows folder...maybe it's time to clear the useless.

Disable hibernation. Move page file off the SSD.

I already had Hibernation and page files disabled. I disabled system recovery and that took my space up from 50mb to 378mb.

Download SequoiaView from here (grab the zip version, it's portable, doesn't need to be installed):

Technische Universiteit Eindhoven: Download SequoiaView

It'll give you a graphical image of what's taking up space on your SSD, this is from my 80GB Intel that's about 50GB full

As you can see on the left side is taken up by OS files and there's not a lot can be done except for the memory dump file (highlighted @ top). Running something like CCleaner and the likes will clear out temp files, WindowsUpdate stuff, etc., but no big chunks that can be easily taken out.

However on the right side, lots of stuff can be moved if I needed to make room.

Hopes that help.

That helped a lot. I ran CCleaner and it was amazing. After running that viewer I saw that my temp files took up a huge amount of space. Ran CCleaner and in less then a minute my free space on my ssd went up to 14gigs. Thanks for the Help!!!
