Default Cooling SLi?

I got a question about cooling GPUs. I recently SLI-ed my 8800GT Alpha Dog.

Wow, they sure pack a lot of heat, and I was wondering if its possible to get new coolers and Sli? I honestly never seen non-stock coolers, but from the pictures, the coolers looks really big.

Can anyone help me out?

Im running one XFX 8800GT with the new cooler and i hope yu have the new bigger cooler cause its awesome compared to the old one and i have an ANTEC SPOT COOL blowing right at it which does an awesome job too i wonder if you can run two of these i mean i dont know if your familar with it.

Its basically an adjustable fan you can mount anywhere on the motherboard so thats a plus and with one im idling at 43-45 and with load in crysis on 56% i have 58 degrees so i think thats pretty decent the spot cool fans are cheap you can grab it for 11 bucks at DC.

I also got the Zalman VF-900 cooler its a one slot cooler im not gonna put it on anytime soon as trhe temps i have currently arent too bad for me and i wanna run it with the stock cooler for awhile lol im scared of changing the cooler at the moment the temps for me are great.

Well, I want to mod my GPU by removing stock and replacing with items such as Thermalright HR-03 Rev. But my question is, are there any coolers like those that I can SLI on? [since they are too big to sli(?)]

You can use the HR-03 for SLI setups, but you usually need to point the heatsinks in opposite directions. The sink can be flipped so that the fins are either above or below the card. Obviously, this tends to occupy a lot of other expansion slots, so it'll depend on what else you have in there.

The thermaltake DuOrb would work great for you. It is great for cards like the 8800GT, very easy to install, and only takes up 2 slots. The HR-03 will eat up 2.5 with no fan, and almost 4 slots when you add a fan!

Definitely go for the Accelero S1 with the 8800GT, and slap 2 120mm fans on it. I did it, and don't regret it at all with a load temp of 51C.

AC S1 would be nice, but with 2 fans on it, how on earth would SLI be possible? Good luck adding a soundcard too, and finding a good flexible SLI bridge to go over the massive coolers too.

Stupid me. Totally forgot that the OP wanted SLI cooling.

I could not hear it over the slew of 120mm fans in my case. It is not loud. I would say it is on par with the noise level of a 1600RPM fan. So something like 28db maybe? not terribly loud or anything. You could also get away with running it at 5 or 7 volts too probably. The power lead is a single molex connector, so you will need to do some modding or use an adapter.
