God just when you thought nvidia is better than ati in terms of driver this crap happens. I regret switching to Nvidia

In fairness to the Nvidia driver developers, they're pretty new at this. ATI (AMD) has been doing this for many years, and it's only been about 6 months since Nvidia started bundling audio over HDMI as part of their driver set (used to be a physical pass through using a 2 pin connector from your audio card).
