PSU making loud buzzing noise?

Hey so i bought a pre-built PC a few months ago and last week it started to make a loud buzzing noise. I thought maybe it was another component inside but it turns out the noise is comming from the PSU.


It sounds like a lawn mower, its loud, ( its not like a tiny noise that i have to listen carefully, its loud enough that you would mistake it for a lawnmore if it was sitting outside. )

Whats the issue?

I read somewhere to tap the top of the case one time where the PSU sits at the back. I thought the guy was crazy but i just tried it and it stopped lol? Noise only occurs once it starts up or resumes from hibernation, once its up it never comes during operation.

Sounds like your psu cooling fan is coming loose and rubbing on something inside the psu case. Talk to your retailer you bought the computer from and let them know what is happening. If the fan fails you could cook your psu.

Yup ^^^PSU fan is actually running on the last miles, concider changing the PSU as soon as possible.
