CPU 100%

Every time i start up my computer now my CPU weridly jumps up to 80-100% of usage and just hangs there for a couple of minutes, I look in the task manager and there is no program that is taking that much usage. The CPU usually returns to normal after about 7 minutes. Whats up here?

Also the werid thing is, is that CPU higher RAM lower, and RAM higher CPU lower, i think there some issues with my computer :/

Task monitor is overly simplified.

Go into Start→All Programs→Accessories→System Tools→Resource Monitor. It will give you a more detailed view of what's happening.

Going back to the task manager tho... you can expand the scope of what the task manager is reporting by clicking the "show processes by all users" check mark at the bottom of the list.

AV app most likly or windows update checking, all 3 keys at once "alt-ctrl-del" to bring up task manager

Last time I had something like this, it ended up being the java update service.

Interesting anyways a week later its still doing this on start up....Virus scans show no Virus but i have 80-95 things in my task manager running.

Try Process Explorer, (Mark Russinovic). Download, unzip into a directory somewhere, create a shortcut or run it from the directory. It's an EXE program, not installed through Windows. You can also find more info on Window's system problems on his site. (He founded Winternals Software and published a lot of freeware utilities like Rootkit Revealer, Process Monitor, File Monitor, etc. He was the guy that caught Sony's CD music DRM rootkits.)

Process Explorer can expand on what you're seeing in Resource Monitor.
