New Build Beeps but Nothing Shows on Screen

Got all my parts from NCIX. Mobo, HDD and CPU are open-box from the ebay outlet.

Put my first build together and after a few hours was disappointed to have it start up nicely but have no video. It beeps once regularly, which means it has POSTed right? I've tried plugging my TV into the gfx card and the onboard, also tried an older VGA monitor with no success. Where do I go from here?

usally means yes booted corect but if beeps constant or intermitting means

memory or video not working.... check if are seated correctly also have the extra power connector

plugged in to MB and Video card

look on MB for your Verson of MB eg. rev1.0 rev2.0 rev2.1 printed

Had this problem once, I pulled and reseated the gpu and it was good to go. Some mobos have an LED which shows red if the card isn't right or green if it is. Good luck!

take the whole shebanh out the case and put it together on your table. one stick of ram in different slots,etc. if board is 'open box' aka someone might have played with it aka it could be fried? :)

hey guys. taking out the gfx card and only using the onboard video is working. mobo has rev 2.0 on it. is it possible that its not compatible? now the card works since i've reconnected it.

on another note, i notice that one of my cases fans is not spinning despite being plugged in. tried other plugs. is it common from them to be doa? how can i know that for sure its the case and not me thats the problem?

go in bios and check settings. use pci/peg/pci-e first..:)

cos its defaulted to boot onboard video would need to boot in bios and disable onboard video

note is fan a 3 or 4 wire
mite have smart FAN control enabled so it dont run till it reaches a certein temp
