Post coolit eco alc cold plate lapping

Hi all

I've got an eco alc. The copper cold plate is really not flat at all. When fitting it, I put the same amount of Arctic Silver on that I have always used (I guess about a BB size amount), had overheating problems immediately. Removed it, and about three quarters of it wasn't touching the i7 at all! So I had to apply a lot more compound. This has helped. At standard settings itís acceptable, but I didn't spend £1200 on a OC setup to run it on default settings!!

So can I remove the copper plate to lap it? Or will that release the cooling fluid?

Any and all help answering this will be very much appreciated.

Before you void your warranty I would highly recommend contacting Coolit about this issue. You may have a defective plate or there is something else wrong. Those guys are really good and they should be able to help.

cheers for your reply Varroa. I've put an identical post on their site. I'd agree, they do seem pretty good.
