What kind of cable ???

Finally got my first ever build finished (almost) on the weekend. http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...ming-soon.html

I transfered one caviar black, one dvd writer and an el cheapo 13 in 1 card reader, everything went well but the card reader has a plug that doesn't fit anywhere on the UD7 board.

Can someone tell me what kind of cable I need.
On the board, I still have a CD_IN 4 pin and a FDD with 34 pin connector that are not used.

On the right is the reader and the left is the board end.

It should plug into a USB header on the motherboard. If you're already using all of them, you'll have to disconnect something first.

I'll check after work but it looks like I'll have to remove the 2 tabs on that cable to fit in the usb header, from the board manual I can see the usb headers are rectangular.

Ok got it, what I need is a cable with 2 usb ends.

Thanks Zero.

Not quite. You don't need any other cable. That plug you show for your card reader conects to a usb header on your motherboard. It does not plug into to a usb port on the back of the motherboard.

Indeed. That card reader connector looks like a standard USB connector. If this is a new build, you're almost guaranteed to have 2 connectors for it on your motherboard. Typically they are used to plug the case's front USB ports, or an external bracket with more USB ports.

Edit: I just looked at your other post and saw that you have a UD7 board. Here's the location of the USB connectors on it, circled in red. If, for some reason, the connector won't fit, I suggest just leaving out that shitty card-reader and getting a new one. This nGear one will work perfectly, and it's going to set you back a huge $8.99. :haha:
