So, family PC decided to die. It would turn on, but then upon booting to windows it would shut off, then when you try again it would shut off earlier, etc.. wouldn't stay ON.
So I figured, either there's a blown cap on the motherboard, or the PSU is dead/dying.
So we replaced the PSU..
Now, it won't even get that far, the fans spin up and it just beeps. Everything is plugged in properly..
What's the deal? Is the motherboard dead or what? I thought that beeping meant something wasn't plugged in, but everything is plugged in, so either the PSU we bought is toast (unlikely) or the motherboard is dead? (more likely?)
What do you think? I really don't wanna pull
my PSU and test it, cause that's more time consuming than paying 10 bucks for a crappy motherboard and tossing it in there..
