never too late lima OP forgotten to say what laptop? some OEM mirror the factory install for this proplem, if not get all your current drivers/firmware burned to a disk then format so you can have connecton (sees nic hardware) and OS sees hardware after format

whenever i get a virus that i can't get rid of with programs i have, i just reinstall my Acronis True Image Home backup, it takes about 10 minutes and you can be sure the virus is gone, no sweating about it.

Some virus-removal forums are really helpful. Most of their active members are addicted to removing viruses.
