Default is this flash drive slow or what?

i have a full 16GB(Sandisk Cruzer Micro) USB flash drive and i'm moving all my files from it to my storage drive on my new computer. just pics(jpegs) and some small video files(.mov) from my P&S camera. anyways, frig, it's slow. is this unusually slow or what?you can see the transfer rate in the pic attached. looks like it's going to take 3 hours, been almost 1 1/2 hours so far, and lots to go.

brand new install W7U, SATA HD, USB 2.0.

The amount of files affect the transfer speeds too. For example, I can transfer a 700MB Best Motoring file and it might go at say 5MB/s. Then if I transfer 700MB worth of songs, the transfer speed will be at 3MB/s.

there are thousands of pics, but do i have an issue somewhere?

edit: i've since done some research, looks like it is a slow piece of hardware(Sandisk sucks?). maybe someone can confirm this.

Yeah, they're all like that. You have to connect to the mobo ones. I let my son transfer 400+ GB of video like that, because he didn't believe me. It took 12 days or something silly like that.

Front and back ports matter? I never knew that. I thought they're all USB 2.0 like gingerbee said...

If that's the case, then shouldn't Windows show a pop up saying that the USB will run better on a USB 2.0 port or something?
