the parts who are more stress when you play a game is the "AWSD" key

seriously for the rest it depend of the Computer parts, in my case I have a i5-750 with only 1 * 4890. this CPU can handle 2 of them for sure, my 1200 w PSU is overkill too, so no stress. HD are not so much stress, they just load the game, they are for more stress when you copy files for 2 hours.

GPU , is the most stress one for sure.

But the thing that intrigues me the most is that i used the 8800GS on my 5200 system and nothing happened to it. No black screens or hanging during gaming even though the temps where at a hot 105*C.

Btw, how do you test your motherboard?

why you don't tell us what is your real problem instead, because I don't have black screen, and I never test my motherboard

Ok here it goes.

A while ago, i upgrade from a 8500GT to 8800GS on the 720BE system. So i installed it and updated the rig with the newest NVidia drivers 195.XX.

While gaming COD4/Dirt2 the computer will lock up and black screen. Out from the speakers is this annoying screeching sound.

Temps:
720BE: <40*C
8800GS: ~55*C

I've tried many other "stable" drivers (ie: 185.XX) but the issue still exists.

I don't know of a utility offhand that "tests the motherboard". It's one of those things where you rule everything out and if the only thing is the motherboard then try that.

Perhaps the 5200 is such a bottleneck that it can't fully load the 8800GS to make it crash? Are your FPS quite a bit different between the two?

I'm local to you jcmaz, I have a lot of spare parts for troubleshooting....

The difference from the 9600GT to a 8800GS was massive. I play COD4 @ 1680, everything maxed out with 4XAA at a steady 50-80 fps (9600GT). But with the 8800GS, i does a maximum of 40fps. I guess its the memory bandwidth that's holding it back.
