Default Slow Raid speed with P55

i setup a raid 0 with 2x 320GB Seagate SATA II 16MB drives. here is the result i got

this doesn't seem all that fast for raid 0. i got the higher result with the same drive with legacy(patched, so it works with vista) nF4 driver in vista a year ago, and was told that even that was bad performance.

here is what i got with vista and legacy nF4

what gives? any help would be greatly appreciated
