Fudged 8500GT

Hey HWC,

I have a F-ed up 8500GT. When I install the 8500GT and boot it up, I get a black screen.

All the fans and stuff are one. I tested on my computer (AMD 5200+) and my friend's Dell. I made sure that it wasn't a PSU problem coz mine is a 600W one and my friends is a brand new Sparkle 400W. Lastly all the symptoms are the same, and there is NO beep from turning on the computer.

So can anyone tell me whats going on?

The first thing to check is that the card is being correctly set as the primary monitor in BIOS.

New installs can sometime alter BIOS graphic card settings.

You mean it wont even post ?

Does it have external power connectors ? are they connected ?

If its all setup correctly , and the card makes it not post , it's probably toast.

Yup, everything is plugged in. I uninstalled my 9600GT drivers before I installed the 8500GT.

It doesn't have any power connectors because it is a low powered card.

If it is toast, what will baking the card do?

RMA time probably. If it does not work in two separate rigs it is probably toast.
