Ram Only reading 4gb instead of 6gb 64bit OS

Hey,
I have installed 2gb x3 DDR3 Ram and in my windows 7, memory installed shows 4gb.

I believe my motherboard has triple channel so theres like 6 slots.

I just installed the ram on the first 3 slots ..was I supposed to install each ram
in the first slot of each row?

like from the 6 slots I would have to install each stick in slot 1, slot 3 and slot 5?

I have 64Bit Windows 7

RAM slots are usualy color coded. So, put the RAM in the three slots of the same color. That will allow them to run in triple chanel mode. Might even fix your problem as well.
