1/4 turn after contact. Not 1/4 turn after you tighten by hand. I have all my fitings hand tightened without a wrench and they never leak. These are o-ring fittings after all.

I never use a wrench on my fittings, I find "snug" tight then just torque it with my hand. Never had a fitting leak. If you need more grip I just grab a "tea-towel".


Must be my "Kung-Fu" grip.

My jujitsu grip is better than your kungfu grip?

Anyways back on topic, overtightening will likely expand the ring beyond the diameter of the threading, and the fitting will leak. I strictly follow the quarter wrench.
