Motherboard or Power Supply

Alright so I just picked up a Antec Quattro 850w power supply and paired it with a Asus P5N32-E SLI board and it seems when I hookup the 8 pin EPS my power supply goes into what seems almost a overload situation.

The power supply will triple in heat and the fan on the rear becomes super obnoxious, but if I hook up the 4 pin the power supply is perfectly fine.

My question is... power supply or board? The board is also out 0.03v when overclocking and to get 1.4v I need to set it to 1.43 which to me is within spec.

P5N32 series,ugghh, mine used to whine from time to time. It might be heavy power supplies that cause it. I'm not sure. My tagan did it at the beginning, but after a while, it seemed to calm down. It's still working OK and no more whining.
