Default Hardware Search Engine

New hardware search engine launched in January 2007, it crawls online shopping sites from around the world... mostly from Canada & USA:

http://www.tokenizer.org/

It needs some cosmetic improvements (more contrast, more usability, less interface)

Comments posted here are very welcomed!

Tokenizer tries to do the best...

Currently, it can heuristically categorize items from well-organized database-driven sites only.

January 21, 2007:
Canada
(180433) USA (82324)- and it is ony 10% coverage... 50000 items added daily.

Thanks!

List of canadian price comparison engines,
well-known:
http://froogle.google.com/ (Google)
http://www.pricegrabber.ca/
http://ca.shopping.yahoo.com/

Canadian:
http://www.shoptoit.ca/ - the best so far
http://www.pricecanada.com
http://www.bbf.ca

Tokenizer is different: probably the only engine around-the-world having own Robot. And canadian database is 3-4 times larger (it does not include items from Amazon yet...)

Most 'Price Comparison Engine's simply publish merchant's data feeds, and not all merchants are willing to publish it.

Just a quick note on service.......

I've been dealing with the folks at mysterybyte (link above) here in Halifax for 4+ years and they still never fail to impress me.

Been having problems with my new vid card and after having done just about everything I possibly could to verify that it wasn't my system I decided to take it back for RMA.

Not only does Mysterybyte offer their own 1yr warranty on most items they sell (over and above the manufacturer's), they gave me a loaner while they check the card out!

I had never heard of it while I was living in Halifax- i dealt with greenlyph, but I visited their forum a while back-- The rest of the website didn't seem to be working-- seemed to be under construction, or just not maintained or something.

The only issues I've had with greenlyph have been with "hard to find" items they've listed, and then couldn't seem to get stock in.

Just a quick note on the thread........

Would it be possible to break the Canadian links down to either geographical location or province?

It'd be a bit of a pain, but for those of us on either end of the country it makes a big difference in the cost of shipping. (Most folks who deal with on-line retailers are probably outside of the normal shipping districts so the "one shipping price covers all" doesn't apply).
