My System Specs

Default SATA Port Dead

Just wondering if you believe it's possible for a single SATA port (specifically #2 of 4) to die?

It's on a P5N-E SLI (650i chipset), with a hard drive plugged into it, the board either freezes during POST, or before Windows starts to load the drivers (aka during startup). Moving the hard drive to port 4, all works fine. Ports 1 and 3 are occupied by hard drives as well.

And if that's seemingly possible, then I'm guessing the board is starting to go bad?

I killed one on my 1st X58 board. The rest worked fine. And I think I'm having issues with one in my HTPC, as my DVD disappears intermittently.
