Perineum, I gotta take you up on that. Dang, I owe you big for the cooler already...

If it turns out that it does the same thing, is it safe to assume that the MB/HDD is gone? RMA both of 'em?

What's a brownout?

Brownout is the opposite of a surge. Instead of your line volts being 'normal' 120v AC (and a surge being anything >5% of that, or >126v AV), a brownout is <95% of normal volts, or <114v AC

Whenever, but the sooner the better. School starts next Tuesday.

So today I got it to boot by tapping the 24-pin ATX power connector accidentally with a screwdriver. This time I had 1 stick of RAM in there. When I put all 3 sticks in it doesn't boot. Perhaps a problem with the RAM too now?

Also, when I did get it to boot (with DVD/HDD connected) it never gets past the screen where it says "Verifying DMI Pool Data." It just stays there, and I guess the DMI Pool Data never gets verified...whatever that means. I'm going to see if I can boot Linux again and run a memtest on each separate stick. Will post updates.

TY for all the help so far.
