Default Windows Live messenger Crashing

Hey guys recently I bought a Sony VAIO VGN-CS22OD laptop,
but sometimes whenever I run Windows Live Messenger
it freezes the system and I have to manually reboot.
The laptop uses Vista 64-bit if it matters any. Any help appreciated.

Download Messenger 7.5 and run in windows 2000 compatibility mode - it won't let you update to live and you won't likely have any problems. Do this if you can't get live to work.

Best option imo is to uninstall/reinstall.. and download an outdated version say between 7.5-8.0 and do the upgrade when it prompts you to sometimes @ sign in.
