Exclamation urgent help needed

Can anyone tell me if it would be ok to cut a little bit off the left side of this adapter's pcb? I need to cut it so that it fits.

The very left side, by the circular hole

This is really important. I hope I get a response soon!

That looks like it is just ground so it should be ok. But the criss cross pattern makes me think it has a purpose, what is the circuit? I am 99% sure it is just ground you would be cutting.

Anybody else?

Its a mini-IDE to standard -IDE adapter, that also plugs into a 4-pin floppy connector for power to a slimline dvd drive.

As long as it isn't a wireless device (they typically use that as an atenna plane sometimes), i think the criss-cross pattern is just an visual reminder/aid to let the technician know (if they are repairing it) where the common ground is. As long as the ground still connects everything together, you should be able to cut it

The area around the hole is most likely the ground that ground the circuit to the screw. As long as you don't cut all of it off and still use the screw then it should be fine.

Yes true it's ground to the screw then to the case, you can cut it but be sure that you have another ground ( the second screw or something else ) Sometime non-grounded cable adapter like this one use screw instead of a ground in the cable so make sure there is a ground in the cable and you'll be fine IMO. Otherwise I have never see before a floppy connector printing this wide away from pin.

Ask for more.
