Innovative use of zip-tie-chains

Though they could of at least made it level and zip-tied all the wires together so it appears neat. Would of only taken a few extra zip-ties

Is this a work place or a school? Either way, it's definitely not a secure place to put a switch. People could unplug cables just for the fun of it (I'm sure I probably would).

It's in a workplace. I've asked HR and their union rep to come out and "discuss" this job with them. I might have to sit in on that one, I'd love to hear the explanation for this! And yes, if I was a trainee sitting in that room unobserved, I might just be tempted to unplug or replug a few cables too, just because the whole thing is so ridiculous.

Thats totally unacceptable. One should never wire while drunk :P Seriously though, if you're going to put a monstrosity such as that in the middle of the room I would at least put a nice looking cabinet around it so it's not such an eye sore (and a temptation to fiddle with)...

At very, very, very least make it level with the whiteboard. I'd definitely cover it up with a cabinet though (or move it...)

ell - oh - ell

that network setup looks like something a janitor would do.

What i dont understand tho is why are all those network drops sitting 1.5 feet off the floor? They should be at shelf height in the first place so you can install a 4u wall mount bracket. oh well, thanks for sharing dadzilla... i needed a chuckle today ;)

Heh.... It looks like they hired some third party contractor to do networking, and ended up with a job hunt consultant group who picked up a "corporate networking for dummies" book when they realised that they'd bid on the wrong contract..... ;)

Maybe they volunteered to set up a lan party that weekend, had a few too many while they were there, and then forgot where they were when they went to set up this particular installation......
