My System Specs

Default Wandering pointer on my craptop.

It's a Dell Inspiron 8200 and has the touchpad as well as the little nubby thingy in the center of the keyboard. The problem seems to be with the nubby thingy. I went into the BIOS and "disabled" it, but as soon as I plugged in a USB mouse it got re-enabled. Is this something I can clean with contact cleaner? Or a way to disable it permenently?

The G.SKILL ad at the top of the page reminds me of what it's doing, it's either moving to the bottom left or upper right of the screen.

Well, contact cleaner didn't fix it.

Just disable it in device manager maybe?

Found the problem. The little plastic clip that holds the flex for the KB and knubby into the motherboard connector has broken. And of course they threw out all the old parts laptops they had at work, time to jury rig something.

I fix, I fix (and the knubby thing will NEVER EVER cause me any grief again.)
