Company Name: BFG
Product: BFG GTX280
Warranty Period: Limited Lifetime
Date purchased: August 11th 2008
Date RMAed: September 27th 2008
Where it was sent to: Kahnawake,QC, J0L1B0
Ease of RMA: 10
Any extra fees?: Shipping costs one-way
Wait time: 5 days
Details: The card died while replacing the stock air cooling with an EK water block. Sent a message to BFG's Support, they replied that the card was dead and it needed to be replaced. The card was sent, and 5 days later I received a new one (there's a week-end in there). They did not say a word about the removed stock air cooler.

On a side note, BFG did not requested to have a Signature at Delivery on the replacement card - UPS left it on the porch of the back door...

Satisfaction: 10

Thought so too; in order to remove the stock cooler, both the serial number and BFG stickers had to be cut. So it was obvious it had been removed. They didn't say a word about it.

Packaging: static-free bag, bubble wrap and no-name box. No accessories, no cables, no software. Not even the original box.

That's kind of odd really.. In a way it's nice of them to just send it, but in another way they have to pay attention to this.. People like Charlie can't escape :P.. j/k.. .. :P

But really that is pretty fast, and for them to cover one way of shipping is nice, I guess most of the used express shipping..

I propose we make a thread detailing it, thats easily searchable.

Write a tiny review about the company and your RMA experience. This can apply to depot repair, product exchange, and retailer RMA as well! Try to follow this format:

Code:
Company Name: BFG
Product: 9800GTX OC
Warranty Period: Lifetime
Date purchased: Last Year
Date RMAed: 3 Weeks ago
Where it was sent to: Quebec
Ease of RMA: (1)
Any extra fees?:None other then my fee to Quebec
Wait time: (Less then a week)
Details: Bfg will always get my $ for hardware,, Kicka$$ to deal with.
Satisfaction: (scale of 1 - 10)
If you have any ideas on how to improve this thread, PM me and let me know!
I love BFG, great company to deal with!!

Company Name: VisionTek
Product: HD4870
Warranty Period: Lifetime
Date purchased: 08/28/2008
Date RMAed: 10/16/2008
Where it was sent to: Inverness, IL USA
Ease of RMA: 8 - Quick replies...
Any extra fees?: $10 Shipping/Handling Money Order....$20 UPS Duty Fees :(
Wait time: Got it back today (Nov 7)...16 business day wait
Details: Well, they asked for a $10 shipping money order to send it back, but then of course they shipped with UPS so I got hit with duty fees. Was using a Thermalright HR-03GT; replaced with stock heatsink to RMA and had no problems with them about it.
Satisfaction: 8 - time to get it back was a PITA...went out and bought a GTX260 C216 for the system in the mean time

Company Name: EVGA
Product: GTX 260
Warranty Period: Lifetime
Date purchased: July 2008
Date RMAed: November 2008
Where it was sent to: USA, CA, Brea
Ease of RMA: 9. fill out a form and send it.
Any extra fees?: Ship to them: $15 CAN, Ship back to me $15 US
Wait time: 6 business days (from sent, to having gotten the card back)
Details: Paying both ways for shipping sucks, but it was a Step up to a Core 216 not a RMA, not sure if they make you pay shipping back if it is an RMA.
Satisfaction: 8

Company Name: Razer
Product: Razer Lycosa
Warranty Period: 1 year
Date purchased: August 2008
Date RMAed: October 2008
Where it was sent to: USA, NY, Olean
Ease of RMA: 6... sent me the same message twice about how the media keys might or might not be faulty before they agreed to RMA, slow replies.
Any extra fees?: Ship to them: $15 CAN, Free to ship back
Wait time: LONG! (2.5 weeks) After they received the keyboard I waited a few days to get a tracking #, nothing, so I e-mail them asking about it. Two days later they send me a confirmation that it was shipped, but the tracking # doesn't work. The next day the tracking # works as it wasn't sent out on the day they confirmed it. 3 day delivery.
Details: Didn't have to pay for return shipping, but if you don't bug them, they wont even return it. Not impressed that they forgot to send me back something, but I'm getting it today, so if there are other problems I'll update this.
Satisfaction: 6
