Date RMAed: December 20th, 2007
Where it was sent to: USA/California
Ease of RMA: 10
Any extra fees?: Yes $22 for UPS with tracking
Wait time: A week (advance rma)
Details: Website made RMA simple, applied for the advance RMA, they send replacement immediately then you ship defective back or get charged.
Satisfaction: 7

Ridiculous that I had to send it to California should have been local. They charged me $186, I had to prove that I sent the drive and they received it using the UPS tracking. Lucky I did as they suggested and sent it UPS with tracking... The local cost for a brand new drive at the time was only $120.

I talked with the store where I bought it (MicroBytes WestIsland) and they would have RMA'd it cheaper, $15 (since I didn't buy their extended warrenty), only I'd have to hand in the old and wait for the new. I felt that was pretty good of them since I didn't take their warrenty. I did for an optical drive, of course that one didn't fail... :)

They have a MArkham office you could have sent it to. You have to ask for it though.

Company Name: Asus
Product: ASUS P5N32-E SLI Motherboard
Warranty Period: 3 Years
Date purchased: December 9th, 2006
Date RMAed: February 4th, 2008
Where it was sent to: Jeffersonville, IN, USA
Ease of RMA: 7
Any extra fees?: Shipping costs one-way
Wait time: About a three weeks
Details:

RMA support via email is rather fast and efficient. Asked me tons of question in order to rule out customer stupidity issues! Very good system. Finally send the board but it took more than a week to arrive! Paid for two day shipping! THX Canada Post! Board disappeared in the system and I got nervous. Tried checking RMA number via Asus site....did not work! Site was down 24/7. Calling and raising my voice a little (unfortunatley it helped), due to the fact that no one knew where my board was. Finally received a notice that my board was send back.

I received a newer version of the P5N32-E SLI which I knew because I had written down all serial/type numbers of my old board. After testing this newer board thouroughly I came to the conclusion that mem slots 1/2 ARE BROKEN!!! DANG!!! So I guess I'm off to repeat this whole procedure! Couldn't they just send me a new 790i ??? LOL

Satisfaction: 5

RMA support via email is extremely fast and easy to use. All that was required was a problem description. Very good system. Love the RMA form system! Card was shipped quickly this time! THX Canada Post! Once again the card disappeared in the system and I got nervous. Tried checking RMA number via BFG site....did not work! "Your RMA number is unavailable/ not recognized". Calling a USA helpdesk line and raising my voice a little, which helped due to the fact that no one knew where my card was. The lady told me that the Canadian depot was new and they still sorta had to sort out their stuff???

The card was shipped back really quick! Good Job...I thought, until I opened the box. I received an older version than my 'old' card, an older core revision that is. Once again I had written down all my serial/type numbers. Some say...ah whatever, but in the end it means I lost on about 50 MHz on both core and mem speeds!

When I finally got around to putting this rig together, the board would not boot...period. Contacted Asus through E-Mail, that was easy enough. With a few simpe questions to rule out user stupidity, i got my RMA number. I only had to wait about three weeks for the whole process, not bad overall, except upon recipt of the new board, it was a P5N32-E standard model. When I contacted their support through e-mail, I was told "upon further review of your RMA, the model we shipped you was the same" then no one has answered my e-mail since Only reason I don't complain about it further isbecause it was just going to be used for a spare rig, and this still did the trick...

I once had a evga graphics card committ suicide fortunately the board was only 5 days old so i could rma it through NCIX which went extremely well. The problem you may run into when rma'ing the board with evga is if you do a cross ship on a new card you will most likely be hit with duty and what not. My advice if at all possible rma and do a cross ship with ncix. Other wise you may have to run the risk of getting hit with duty.

Unfortunately I bought the card from Tigerdirect and they won't deal with it after 30 days (I've had it for about 50 days...) EVGA won't cross ship unless you paid for the super warranty within a month of buying the card so hopefully I don't get nailed with duties each way.

Company Name: BFG
Product: 8800GT + 8800GTX Watercooled
Shipped to: Quebec!
Warranty Period: Lifetime
Date purchased: ? Bought it off someone in 2008
Date RMAed: July 2008
Ease of RMA: 10
Wait time: for 8800GT: 1 week. for 8800GTX: 2 weeks.
Satisfaction: 10
Details:

8800GT was artifacting because I must've pushed it hard or messed it up setting up watercooling block + ramsinks... put thermal paste back on and stock enclosure and shipped it out. Once they received it they shipped a new one out to me which came in 1-3 days. FLAWLESS.
8800GTX watercooled was artifacting because I bought it off of someone from RFD (who actually kept following up with me to resolve the situation in my favour). Shipped it off to them. They received it but didn't update the RMA status for 4 business days, then I called them and they found it that day. A new one was sent out to me the day they found it. Amazing.

No receipts needed, shipping within Canada, tech support takes a while to reach, but other than that... BFG will be getting all of my videocard business from now on.
